Having always competed in some type of team or individual sport since childhood, the ideas of being active is now part of my life. Matt started racing BMX as a kid into his early teens and quickly worked his way to National Championship in the 80's. School and team sports then became a major part of his life through high school. Matt main sport was wrestling through High school and college. His college career in was wrestling stopped short due to a major shoulder injury, but he continued to coach for several years, and found cycling again as an outlet. Matt raced at the elite level on the track and did some road racing, with some success. Matt is known and respected in the cycling community for supporting, officiating and putting on many races. Matt just hopes to give back to the sport, as much as the sport has given him.
