I am Matt Martinez.
I am a California native and have spent the majority of my life competing or playing around in the outdoors. I enjoyed growing up in California because of the environmental diversity; you can be surfing in Santa Cruz in the morning and snow skiing in the Sierras later that same afternoon. Like most of you out there, I enjoy the action of a little competition, whether against my own personal record or against other individuals. I’ve participated in every sort of sport out there-soccer, football, inline hockey, BMX, wrestling, triathlons, basketball, volleyball, road and track cycling, baseball, and beer crawls. If it is fun and challenging or just gets me outside, I am all for it! It has always been a positive experience being able to share what I know about certain activities with others. Through coaching in numerous sports, I have helped others grow and reach their personal goals. I have promoted events from the elementary school level through the national level but had never thought of it as a business, until now. I believe it takes the right group of people to make something like this happen, and I believe I have found them!
In 2019, I decided that I wanted to take the next step and give it a go as a small business entity. That is how Sky Express Events came to be. Sky Express is named after one of my Bernese Mountain Dogs. Sky is the best dog I have ever had. She loves to be around people, loves to run, and is so so about going on bike rides with me.
My goal is to bring an “event” style atmosphere to all of the activities I plan to host. I hope to provide a positive and fun filled experience to all who attend our events.
